Many people have holiday traditions where they drive around the neighborhood to look at all the lights and decorations. In Hoboken we can wait for a mild day to take a walk around town and enjoy all the thoughtful and festive decorations on our naturally rustic backdrop. Share your own with us on Instagram @travistadesign #hobokenholidays
I came across some really fun vine videos from Old Navy that I had to share. Check out these cute fairisle animations – just in time for ugly sweater season.
Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s not forget our furry family this season. Check out our recipe below for “Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats.” We packaged them in mason jars with a ribbon and a custom hand-stamped tag. Also make sure you check out Urban Olive for more treat ideas and custom gifts for your special furry friends and family.
I’m a little late on sharing this as the party is this weekend, but I love how this engagement party invitation turned out. It’s simple and rustic and perfect for a fall party. I created it for a good friend, but now it is also available to you in our etsy shop! Happy Fall!
A bunch of my latest scarf designs are now in stores! Just in time for the cool fall season 🙂
One of them was even featured in the Charming Charlie email advertisement for the Equestrian Collection.
Check it out- or buy it!
Tis the season for weddings and babies. I want to share some photos of the beautiful showers I’ve attended so far this season honoring some lovely to-be brides and a baby 💕
I hope you love the special details and will be inspired to get crafty for your next shower.
First up is a baby shower for a good friend in PA. Terrain Garden Cafe , in Glen Mills, PA is a unique venue by Urban Outfitters that I would describe as a hybrid cafe restaurant, garden nursery and home boutique all wrapped into a beautifully rustic horticultural setting. The menu features hand-selected local produce, meats, and dairy products from the seasonal harvest of local farmers. Terrain accommodates private events in their own restored antique greenhouse, lodge, and terrace depending on your needs. Below are some photos from the shower.
Next up was a waterfront bridal shower at Pier 701 in the adorable town of Piermont, NY. We enjoyed a lovely sunny day at this tiki bar and restaurant celebrating our lovely bride-to-be and backed by panoramic water views.
Next up is a shower that was extra special to me because I am a bridesmaid in the wedding. All the special details for the event were hand-crafted by us especially for the bride and her day. The shower was held at Lambertville Station Inn, in historic Lambertville, NJ on the Delaware River.
Of course I was in charge of the invitations, and I think they came out great 🙂 You can also find them soon in our etsy shop Hudson & Sound.
I hope you enjoyed a recap of my May Showers and got some ideas for your next shower! Don’t forget to check out Hudson & Sound for unique invitations and crafty party details!
I am super excited to share a recent wedding invitation created for my good friend. It is both rustic and romantic and I think they came out so great. It’s a square ivory colored invitation with navy blue and grey text in a navy scalloped pocket. We added a burlap and lace ribbon around the pocket and used corresponding kraft colored envelopes for both the invitation and the response card.
On friday I went to one of my favorite trade shows in NYC, the Architectural Digest Home Design Show.
“A world of design inspiration awaits at the 13th annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show. SHOP the latest furniture, accessories, lighting, art, kitchen, bath and building products for all your design projects. BE INSPIRED with seminars offered by leading talent from the world of design. CELEBRATE DESIGN at North America’s Premier Design Show for the luxury market.”
I wanted to share photos of some favorites from the show and hope you will be as inspired as I was!
My favorite featured event was Dining by Design featuring a “brilliant blast of cuisine, creativity, and spectacle with 40+ one-of-a-kind dining environments that awe and inspire.”
One of my favorites in Dining by Design was by Ralph Lauren. How beautiful is this!?
I also loved this display by students from FIT. It was inspired by the “true moral meaning of Pinocchio.” The story relates to the fight against AIDS and the struggles that must be overcome “when caught inside the belly of a whale.”
Check out the fishtail on the silverware!
And here are a few more from Dining By Design that were beautiful and inspired 🙂
The rest of the show featured the latest furniture, accessories, lighting, art, kitchen, bath and building products and left me eager to take on some new projects. Here are some things that I found particularly cool…
The “River Collection” by Greg Klassen:
I’ve been wanting herringbone wood floors forever. I think I first became intrigued while reading about Jennifer Aniston’s West Village penthouse. One day I will have them as well 🙂 Just maybe not in a PH…
Appliances in fun and trendy colors seem to be popping up everywhere. This is the second time this month that I’ve seen this purple oven in Pantone’s color of the year “Radiant Orchid”
What do you think about these crooked shelves? Cool design or bad fang shui!?
I do like this rustic wood panelled wall. This could be a pretty cool DIY project.
I also really loved these tables with glass tiled tops and drawers.
Another project for an old table makeover – how about adding a stained glass top?
This round mirror is unique and practical with a built on shelf:
And last but not least, I really liked this art display. I named it “string art” and think it would be a nice little project for a rainy day. What do you think?
We are excited to share a recent website we created for Luce Custom Home Décor . Visit her here or stop by her store in Hackettstown, NJ to find out more about her interior design services and check out a diverse selection of home decor and furniture, vibrant curtains and window treatments, brilliant lighting, decorative pillows and an artful array of mirrors, clocks and whimsical accents, as well as original jewelry, beauty products, and unique gifts.
I’m super excited to share a recent save the date I created for a friend’s upcoming wedding at the New York Botanical Garden.
On theme for the garden wedding, the save the date features hand-drawn watercolor florals and is printed on seed paper. How special is that!? Guests can plant the paper from the invitation and grow wildflowers!
